Discipleship is at the center of what we do at Emmanuel. We desire to be a gathering of God's people who know how to make disciples—not only the elders or ministry specialists, but all of us—and who are involved in the ongoing work, or mission, of the church.
Through the discipleship process, we learn and are continuously reminded what the gospel is, what it does in us, and how it works through us. The best way to keep these central realities before our eyes is to "get in the game" and disciple others. So the Emmanuel Baptist leadership is significantly invested in supporting and furthering the work of our church members to "bear fruit in keeping with repentance" (Matt. 3:8).
"Mature in Christ" means being instant in the gospel, the result of many prayers, conversations, intimate moments in Scripture, and experiences of faith-in-action.
Here at Emmanuel, we want everyone to live on the firm ground of God's grace and Christ's righteousness. You will hear it in our preaching, our praying, our counseling and our fellowship.
Let's get started.

Definitions of "discipleship" vary widely from church to church. Here's what we mean by it.
In practice, discipleship groups look like (very) small meetings—typically two to four people, led by one who has completed the process—who spend a few months working the core concepts into their daily lives.
The gospel never fails to transform us when we begin to practice what we say we believe, so we're always looking for opportunities to implement the doctrines of grace. This is not merely one more passive learning experience. Expect to be challenged to act as the Spirit reveals what's in your heart.
